Election of PPG representative 2015

In our Constitution we have the option to extend the membership of our organisation to the Patient Participation Groups (PPGs) of our member practices and to have an elected PPG representative on our Governing Body.

As all practices in Enfield now have a PPG, we are running a formal selection and election process for someone to represent all the groups and to take on a new role as the elected PPG representative on our Governing Body. This person will be a non-voting member of the Governing Body with speaking rights only.

The elected PPG representative will also sit on our Patient and Public Engagement Committee, which is the subcommittee of the Governing Body responsible for the delivery of the communications and engagement strategy and equality and diversity duties. At committee level, the elected PPG representative will help us to ensure that our communications and engagement plans meet the needs of our diverse communities and also help us to understand how to work with and support the further development of PPGs.

We would encourage PPG Chairs or members to apply for this exciting new voluntary role. Candidates who put themselves forward for the elected PPG representative role must be a member of their GP practice's PPG for at least three months, in any role.

We aim to support all candidates who apply to find a volunteering opportunity with the CCG.

Further information about this role can be found in the information pack.

There is also a timeline which explains the application, interview and election process.

To apply for this role, please complete this application form by 30 January 2015 which can be returned electronically to eleanor.davies@nelcsu.nhs.uk or by post to: PPG Elections, NHS Enfield CCG, Holbrook House, Cockfosters Road, Barnet, Herts, EN4 0DR

If you would like an informal discussion about the elected PPG representative role please contact mailto:laura.andrews5@nhs.netor call 0203 688 2840.

We will be discussing the elections at our next PPG meeting on 15 January 2015. Further on details on the event are available here.
