Meetings of the Governing Body
Enfield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is made up of 47 GP member practices who report to a Governing Body, whose role is to oversee the work of the CCG and ensure that decisions about changes to local health services are debated openly and fairly.
Coming to meetings
Members of the public are very welcome to attend meetings and listen to the discussions and observe our decision-making process. However, it's important to note that although Governing Body and NCL Committee meetings are held in public, they are not 'public meetings'.
This means that members of the public are able to listen to the proceedings and where submitted questions relating to the agenda can be answered, listen to members respond.
Members of the public can ask questions about Governing Body agenda items before the meeting which are usually held on Wednesday.
Questions relating to the agenda must be submitted by the 10am on the Monday before the meeting to: firstname.lastname@example.org by 10am on the Monday before the meeting. We will endeavour to provide answers at the beginning of the meeting (in the ‘questions from the public’ agenda item), or in writing afterwards, depending on the number and complexity of questions we receive.
As we are receiving an increasing number of often complex questions, a pragmatic limit of three questions per individual or organisation has been set and so it is recommended questions focus on the priority areas you require clarity on. This means a greater number of individuals can ask questions within the time available at the meeting and importantly reduces the amount of time required to respond to questions.
There will also be an opportunity to ask questions relating to agenda items only, at the meeting during the fifteen minute ‘Questions from the public’ agenda item, although this will be at the Chair’s discretion and will depend upon the number of questions asked and the time available.
Questions and feedback can, of course, also be submitted outside of our formal meetings through our contact page.
