Governing Body vacancy for Secondary Care Specialist

Enfield Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) commissions health services for a resident population of around 335,500 residents, and is led by the Governing Body (Board) on behalf of the 48 member GP practices. The borough is divided into four localities along geographical lines which align well with local demography. Each locality has elected two GP representatives to the Governing Body.

The CCG is looking to appoint a Secondary Care Specialist with a high level of professional expertise and knowledge for the role of Secondary Care Doctor on its Governing Body.  The postholder will bring a broader view of health and care issues to underpin the work of the CCG from a secondary care medical perspective, informed by their expertise and experience.

The role will need to be filled by an experienced Secondary Care specialist with current or recent hospital experience, who can demonstrate a high level of understanding of how care is delivered in a secondary care setting.  Ideally, because of the significant challenges faced by the CCG, you will also have previous experience of successful collaborative working at Governing Body or Board level.

The Secondary Care Specialist cannot be a current employee of a main provider of services to NHS Enfield CCG or CCGs in North Central London.
