Proposed move of Moorfields Eye Hospital’s City Road services Draft summary of consultation findings published

A draft summary of consultation findings, prepared by independent evaluators, is now published and open for comment.

The consultation, which ran between Friday 24 May and Monday 16 September, gave patients, staff, clinicians and the general public the opportunity to comment on the proposal to create a new centre for eye care, research and education in the St Pancras area.

Led by Camden Clinical Commissioning Group and in partnership with NHS England (Specialised Commissioning), the consultation allowed thousands of people to get involved and have their say. Over 1,500 people completed the consultation survey and more than 2,000 people have given their feedback in other ways including emails, discussion groups, phone calls, letters and via the virtual assistant on the consultation’s website.

The draft summary of findings is open for comment until Wednesday 6 November. This gives anyone the opportunity to review the feedback and provide any comments that they think may have been missed.

The independent analysis of the survey responses tells us that 73% of responses agreed with the proposed new centre and 73% agreed with St Pancras as the preferred site.

A final outcome report will be published in November, which will inform a decision-making business case for consideration in determining if the proposed move should go ahead. This decision is due to be taken in December 2019.
