Wuhan novel coronavirus


Wuhan novel coronavirus (WN-CoV) is a new respiratory illness that has not previously been seen in humans. The risk of getting the illness in the UK is low. 

Advice to travellers going to Wuhan, China
You should avoid all but essential travel to Wuhan, Hubei province, China.

If you are travelling to the area, you should:

  • wash your hands regularly with soap and water
  • avoid visiting animal and bird markets
  • avoid contact with anyone who is ill with a cough or difficulty breathing
 
Advice to travellers returning from Wuhan, China
If you have travelled to Wuhan City in China in the last 2 weeks and feel unwell, call NHS 111 for advice. Do not go straight to a doctor's surgery or hospital.
